About Us

Welcome to the Steve Andrews & Associates community. My name is Steve Andrews.

I have been practising massage therapy for over 3 decades and have worked in the health and spa and wellness sector across the Caribbean region in many different areas, where I sat on many committees dealing with training standards for the sector.

While I was Chair of the training committee for the sector in the region, the committee organised the first regional training workshop for spa therapists, massage therapists and skincare experts in the Caribbean.

I also chaired the Caribbean Spa and Wellness Association (C-SWA) for six years, leading a team of spa operators across the world in examining best practices for the Caribbean. Over the last few years I have developed my brand and focused on self-development. Then … bam! Covid-19 hit us.

Covid-19 has allowed us to really look at what we as massage therapists are doing and how we’re doing it. By having the time to reflect on a sector that has been so good to me, I have realized that we need to refocus, refresh and offer our renewed selves to the sector.

That’s why the Steve Andrews & Associates community was developed. This is a community of therapists supporting therapists in the pursuit of world-class excellence. But how can we really develop as superstar therapists? I believe we first have to understand that every single person who presents themselves before a therapist is unique.

This kind of thinking will help us move away from constantly performing routine work on clients who present themselves before us. We have something extremely powerful in our hands. What is that we possess? The art of therapy … beyond the typical massage routine. With the proper technique, we have gold in our hands. That gold is … HEALING!

Massage therapy is a simple but powerful art form that just needs a little guidance, not a lot of money. That’s why I believe we can come together to really help to develop each other: elevating ourselves from routine into therapy.

This is why steveandrewsassociates.com (SAASS) is here.

The SAASS community will take a deep look into the concepts that can grow struggling massage practices into thriving massage therapy businesses! We will discuss topics such as the

• difference between massage and massage therapy
• the link between massage and sleep
• the importance of touch to an individual
• proper breathing techniques, emotional connection, energy, vibration
• body mechanics and the tools every therapist needs in their toolbox to move their craft and business to the next level.

It’s not about how many modalities you know or how fancy you are. It is about moving from the routine to the life-changing aspects of therapy. I believe we could have a greater impact on those afflicted by Covid-19 if we really embraced the fact that we are not masseuses but therapists!

I do not claim to possess all of the knowledge in the world. But I am inviting you to really explore the power of massage therapy as we bring you new videos and discussions every month. We will not be competing against each other. We will be learning and growing together and taking our skills and our service delivery to the point where our clients respect us as they do doctors.

I am here to help you develop your skills and to give back to an industry that has been extremely good to me and which can be extremely good to all massage therapists out there. So let’s put aside the mundane, routine massage and add some SAASS* to massage therapy!

See you on the inside!

~ Steve
